Estates Groundskeeper

We are seeking a diligent and skilled Groundskeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the beauty and functionality of our outdoor spaces, ensuring they are safe, clean, and welcoming. This role will entail looking after three sites, with the role based in slinfold. Hours of work are Monday- Friday 08:30- 17:30. 

What you'll be doing:

• Assist in the day-to-day operations of the AJW’s buildings and grounds, ensuring they are safe, functional, and meet regulatory requirements.

• Perform tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, weed control, and general landscaping duties to maintain aesthetic appeal.

• Ensure all outdoor areas, including walkways, driveways, and public spaces, are free from debris and hazards.

• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and tools, such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers.

• Monitor and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and grass.

• Identify and manage pests and diseases to maintain the health of plants and lawns.

• Perform general DIY & decoration works as needed.

• Assist maintain all helpdesk enquires with a prompt response & course of action (emails, JIRA, internal worklist)

• Work closely with the Estates team & H&S Manager on all H&S-related matters

• Assist with onsite Party/Entertainment set up/breakdown.

• To provide Emergency 24/7 call out attendance to estate maintenance requirements.

About you

• Prior experience in groundskeeping or landscaping

• Ability to operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.

• Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.

• Basic knowledge of plants, gardening techniques, and pest control methods

• Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

• Full UK driving license (clean license preferred)

• Must have a good proactive attitude.
