Supplier Manager

The opportunity

Are you ready to take your career to new heights? We are looking for a Supplier Manager to join our Procurement team. The role of Supplier Manager has overall responsibility for an allocated group of suppliers and spend as defined and agreed with the Head of Procurement. The Supplier Managers role will have clear measurable contract management and savings objectives and deliverables.

The role includes:

• Managing key supplier contracts with continuous analysis and monitoring of performance, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

• Validating and managing your allocated supplier contractual Volume Rebates.

• Acting as an escalation point for supplier issues raised by MRO and CRO functions

• Driving improvements in cost, risk, contract quality, delivery performance, and overall effectiveness within your area of responsibility.

• Overseeing assigned suppliers and spend categories, ensuring accountability for performance in those areas.

• Contributing towards annual cost saving targets in line with individual and departmental goals.

• Developing market knowledge in assigned supplier or category areas to create measurable business advantages.

• Working with Strategic Sourcing team to contract, amend contracts and renew contracts effectively with assigned suppliers to ensure the optimal commercial terms for AJW.

• Monitoring and reporting of department K.P.I.s (including monitoring exchange + cost recharge report).

• Managing and recovering remedies and penalties from suppliers either through the SSC/CASSPS delegation or through our own supplier contracts.

• Applying effective negotiation, benchmarking, and risk management techniques.

• Maintaining sound business relationships with new and existing suppliers and internal teams to meet business and customer requirements.

• Performing key tasks such as market analysis trends on cost and performance.

• Carrying out any miscellaneous job-related duties deemed necessary by the Head of Supplier Management and Director of Commercial and Supplier Management.

• Embracing change with a positive, proactive attitude, demonstrating leadership and support for the wider team.

About you

• Evidence of experience in strategic procurement within a complex environment.

• Proven ability to develop and execute procurement strategies, manage the procurement lifecycle, and oversee supplier performance and due diligence.

• Skilled in managing contracts to minimise risk and maximise value.

• Strong experience in stakeholder and supplier management, including performance monitoring and risk management.

• Commercially astute, with the ability to analyse spend, volume, and market data to inform category plans.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• High attention to detail and strong relationship-building abilities.

• Adaptable and able to manage change effectively.

• Capable of handling diverse topics beyond the procurement plan when needed.

• Be a role model for good procurement practice and demonstrate a high level of professionalism, resilience under pressure and emotional intelligence, management of emotions and those within the team

• Able to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines whilst delivering to a high standard.

• Familiarity with contract drafting and management and practical knowledge of contract law.

  Desirable:

• Knowledge of the aviation repairs industry
