Job description

AJW is looking for a Technical Records Manager to play a key role in protecting the value, compliance and traceability of our aviation assets. This role will provide specialist technical records expertise across aircraft, engines and components, supporting acquisitions, disposals, transitions and asset readiness.

You’ll work closely with teams across Sales, Business Development, Asset Management, Engines and Technical to ensure records are accurate, complete and commercially robust. By identifying risks early, providing clear recommendations and improving records governance, you’ll help AJW make confident asset decisions, reduce technical and commercial risk, and continue transforming aviation efficiency through smarter, technology-enabled ways of working.

Day-to-day activities

In this role, you will typically:

  • Review aircraft, engine and component records to support technical due diligence for acquisitions and disposals.

  • Validate technical documentation, traceability evidence and asset status information.

  • Review ADs, SBs, LLPs, modifications, repairs and back-to-birth records against regulatory, contractual, customer, operator and lessor requirements.

  • Identify records gaps, discrepancies, compliance issues and commercial risks.

  • Recommend practical corrective actions and escalate significant issues where requirements cannot be met.

  • Provide technical records advice to Sales, Business Development, Asset Management, Engines and Technical teams.

  • Support aircraft and major-asset transitions, teardowns, acquisitions and disposals with timely records expertise.

  • Help improve technical records processes, standards and best practice.

  • Use AI-assisted tools where appropriate, while retaining human judgement, technical accountability and final decision-making.

  • Support transaction readiness by ensuring asset records are complete, accurate, traceable and ready for customer, operator or lessor review.

About you

We’re looking for someone with strong technical records, airworthiness or aircraft transition experience, who can combine detailed regulatory knowledge with practical commercial judgement. You’ll be confident reviewing complex technical documentation, identifying risks and providing clear, evidence-based recommendations to support asset decisions and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate will be detail-focused, highly organised and comfortable working across multiple stakeholders, including Sales, Business Development, Asset Management, Engines and Technical teams. You’ll need to balance accuracy, compliance and commercial awareness, while being able to explain technical issues clearly and support timely decision-making.

Essential experience, skills and behaviours

  • Experience in aircraft engineering, technical services, CAMO, airworthiness, aircraft transitions or technical records.

  • Strong understanding of aircraft technical records, asset traceability and regulatory requirements.

  • Experience reviewing technical status documentation, including ADs, SBs, LLPs, modifications, repairs and back-to-birth records.

  • Ability to identify records gaps, compliance issues and technical or commercial risks.

  • Confident providing practical recommendations and escalating significant issues where needed.

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and document control.

  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters to non-specialist stakeholders.

  • Collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively across commercial, technical and asset management teams.

  • Customer-focused mindset, with a commitment to timely, practical and evidence-based support.

  • Comfortable using technology and AI-assisted tools where appropriate, while retaining personal accountability for judgement and recommendations.
