As a Backend Team Lead at AJW, you will lead our back-end development team, ensuring the robustness, scalability, and efficiency of our digital products. Your expertise in AWS, C#, .NET, Terraform, Oracle, and collaboration with cross-functional teams will be crucial in shaping our technology stack.
What you'll be doing:
Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical guidance to the back-end development team.
- Architect, design, and maintain cloud-based solutions using AWS services.
- Develop and optimize back-end systems using C# and .NET.
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Manage Oracle databases, ensuring data security and performance.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with Digital engineering team, project managers, and other stakeholders.
- Join forces with the infrastructure team to ensure seamless deployment and operation of back-end services.
- Team up with other digital leaders within AJW to identify, formulate and manage technology programmes.
- Work closely with the Digital Engineering Manager to align technical strategies with overall business goals.
- Collaborate on project planning, resource allocation, and prioritization
Documentation and Best Practices:
- Maintain technical documentation, recording development methods, procedures, and architectural decisions.
- Promote best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and adherence to SOLID principles.
- Champion knowledge sharing within the team.
Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of back-end developers.
- Set the vision and strategy for back-end development projects.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Job requirements
AJW Group's Digital and Technology team is heavily automated, structured around well-defined processes, and data-driven. Individuals in this role are expected to have a keen interest in technology, learning on the job, from their colleagues in adjacent areas, and through personal development.
You will bring:
- 8+ years of experience in back-end software development using C#/.NET
- 3+ years experience with architecting and operating high performance serverless solutions in the cloud, preferable on AWS
- Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Familiarity with Oracle databases and SQL.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
